This is the third volume of a four volume series and deals with common neoplasms of the breast, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and the male and female external genitalia. It continues the authoritative presentation of the incidence, symptomatology and diagnosis of malignant disease characterizing the previous volumes. Although chiefly concerned with radium therapy, the book contains adequate discussions of the most appropriate methods of treatment. The illustrations are numerous, and some are excellent, but those of lung neoplasms are poorly reproduced. The radiotherapy described represents one English view, which may be at variance with the American trend toward more extensive employment of roentgen therapy. The volume should be useful to clinicians dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of malignant disease, regardless of the emphasis on radiation therapeutics.
