This booklet is an outline in condensed and popular style of the material which is to be found in more comprehensive form in the Annual Report to the Security Administrator by the Surgeon General of the United States Public Health Service. It is a descriptive report of the several functions of the United States Public Health Service, including the National Institute of Health, the Division of Foreign and Insular Quarantine, the Division of Domestic Quarantine, the Division of Sanitary Reports and Statistics, the Division of Marine Hospitals and Relief, the Division of Venereal Disease, the Division of Mental Hygiene and the so-called Division of Personnel and Accounts, which is largely an administration division. The report is a condensed descriptive narrative of the work done by the Public Health Service, together with a description of its budgets and the rank, classification and salaries of its personnel.
