This comprehensive volume is an excellent reference book for anyone interested in disorders of the locomotor system and rheumatic diseases. It should be of particular value to the internist, the neurologist, the orthopedic surgeon, and the general practitioner. It is too detailed and too long to be used as a textbook for students, although even for them it is a good reference book.
The author has planned the book well, and the various chapters are subdivided, allowing one to read a particular section of the book and obtain the greatest amount of information from each chapter. The chapter on physical examination should be carefully read, for the author emphasizes the fact that the examination of the patient should be done more carefully in order to evaluate the symptoms.
