Abstract

CALIFORNIA 

Dr. Dimond to Head Institute at Scripps Clinic.—  Dr. Edmunds Grey Dimond, chairman, department of medicine, and director, Cardiovascular Laboratory, University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, will become the first director of the new Heart-Lung Institute and head, division of cardiology, Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, La Jolla, on July 1. The institute provides Dr. Dimond and his group with 5,000 net square feet of laboratory space and facilities for patient care and postdoctoral education. Dr. Dimond will enlarge his present fellowship training program in cardiology at the new institute.

Personal.—  Dr. Joseph D. Teicher, Beverly Hills, Child Guidance Clinic of Los Angeles, was appointed adjunct professor of child psychiatry, University of Southern California School of Medicine, and director of the Children's Psychiatric Services, Los Angeles County General Hospital, effective July 1.—At the third annual meeting of the Western Pharmacology Society, Dr. Howard R.
