Due to the continually increasing knowledge of various tumors of the chest, this volume is especially timely and has been prepared by an outstanding, internationally known group of contributors. Primary tumors of all of the intrathoracic organs, as well as of the chest wall, diaphragm, and pleura, are described, and metastatic tumors of the lung and the management of inoperable primary tumors of the chest are discussed. All modern methods of diagnosis of these lesions, including special x-ray techniques and bronchoscopic and cytological examinations, are dealt with in an erudite manner and are well illustrated. Therapeutic measures, including surgery and irradiation, and the advanced thinking which goes into treatment are presented and discussed.
