The rehabilitation, management and prevention of stroke will be considered by 108 experts at a Stroke Conference in Chicago February 14-16.
The conference, which will develop source material and a program for a National Congress on Stroke next fall, is sponsored jointly by the AMA, the American Heart Association, the Heart Disease Control Program of the U.S. Public Health Service, and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, of the department of Health, Education and Welfare.
The conference will be divided into seven discussion groups with 15 participants each. Group topics will include:
social, educational and occupational rehabilitation;
medical and surgical care of stroke victims;
prevention of stroke;
Representing the AMA will be Drs. Frank H. Krusen, Hamilton Ford and John B. Youmans.
The American Heart Association will be represented by Drs. David Gelfand, Edward E. Gordon and Theodore G. Klumpp.
