Abstract

Ten years ago the publication of Robertson's Pneumoencephalography commanded the attention of everyone concerned with diagnostic neuroradiology, for this monograph presented the subject in a refreshingly new and clear manner. The second edition, now expanded by additional experience, can anticipate an equally enthusiastic welcome. The new edition retains those features which made Pneumoencephalography a classic work—Robertson's meticulous attention to detail, the authority of his vast experience as neurologist and encephalographer, and a style conducive to pleasurable reading.

The first section of the book, devoted to the mechanics of ventricular filling and distribution of the gas, introduces the chapters on technique and normal pneumoencephalographic anatomy. Line drawings with pertinent legends accompanying the well-reproduced roentgenograms add to the ease of interpretation. Organization of pneumoencephalographic abnormalities by anatomical areas and abundant cross references in the index enhance the book's usefulness for study and daily reference. An entirely new chapter devoted to pneumoencephalography
