To the Editor:—
Since we are excluding 2.5% of the donor population who fall outside the 97.5 percentile with each Ig category, this would mean, in theory, that we shall exclude 7.5% of the donors when all three Ig's are considered. In practice, however, we found that donors with an elevated Ig level frequently showed an increase in more than one fraction. The proportion of donors excluded because of an abnormal value then becomes approximately 5%.
