To the Editor:—
We would agree with Dr. Baum that a liver scan may in some instances be of value in demonstrating metastatic nodules. Perhaps the method can increase the positive yield from needle biopsy in metastatic hepatic disease. Recently an objective critique of the hepatic scan has been published.1 When controlled studies in metastatic hepatic disease as suggested in this critique have demonstrated the value of hepatic scintillography we shall welcome the procedure as a proved adjunct to biopsy of metastatic nodules.
