Abstract

In the original contribution entitled "Cessation of Gout Following Portacaval Shunt," published July 22 (205:213-214), an important component of the buffer used in the procedure for oxypurine determination was omitted. On page 214, the first sentence in the second paragraph should read: "Procedure: Urine (0.10 to 0.50 ml) from a 24-hour sample was added to 0.10 M tris-hydrochloric acid buffer, pH 7.6, to make a final volume of 2.9 ml."
