Abstract

To the Editor.—  Your EDITORIAL, "A Bill of Rights for Alcoholic People" should be followed up by a similar "Bill of Rights for Homosexual People." Whether the AMA believes that homosexuality is an illness or not, physicians should encourage a similar act which "substitutes understanding and humane treatment for moralism and punishment. We can no longer ignore our responsibilities and expect that the criminal justice system can deal effectively with... the needs of [homosexual] people."
