Abstract

Two cases of sudden death occurred during the insertion of hip prostheses with the use of methyl methacrylate polymer as bone cement. In one case in which an autopsy was performed, widespread marrow emboli were found. Hypotension was also an additional factor in cardiopulmonary collapse.
