Abstract

In the LETTER TO THE EDITOR, "FTA-ABS Test" by Peter E. Dans, MD, published in the April 5 issue (235:142, 1976), there was an error in the third line in column 3. The second circumstance under which the FTA-ABS test should be used is "as a confirmatory test for syphilis on the same serum in which the VDRL test is reactive, unless late syphilis is suspected." As published, the word "late" had been replaced by "recent"—which is the opposite of the correct meaning.
