Evaluation of a New Antituberculous AgentEthambutol Hydrochloride (Myambutol)

JAMA. 1969;208(13):2463-2464. doi:10.1001/jama.1969.03160130047011
Abstract

Ethambutol hydrochloride is effective when used in combination with one or more of the primary antituberculous agents (ie, isoniazid, aminosalicylic acid, streptomycin sulfate). Because the drug may produce serious visual changes, adequate ophthalmologic examinations should be made before and during the course of treatment.
