Abstract

To the Editor.—  We wish to thank Dr Manley for his editorial comments (235:846, 1976) referable to our study (235:819,1976) and for sharing his recent experience.We believe it is pertinent to answer the questions he posed regarding our report and have the following comments.As regards the "quality of angiography" referable to "whether any of the angiography had to be repeated at the institution where the coronary bypass surgery was performed," we wish to point out that we initiated a dual cardiac diagnostic and surgical program in 1965 and have reported our surgical experience.1 Three hundred and four patients were studied from 1965 to July 1971. Methods of study including technical details (such as 16-mm filming methods) were so varied that we believed inclusion in the present study would be confusing to the reader.
