JAMA. 1969;209(13):2042. doi:10.1001/jama.1969.03160260046011
Abstract

Mumps virus vaccine, live, attenuated is the Jeryl-Lynn strain of mumps virus grown in chick embryo tissue culture. It provides active immunity in more than 95% of recipients past their first birthday. Duration of immunity without revaccination is unknown but at least is reasonably prolonged. Adverse reactions have been uncommon and mild.
