The Prostaglandins, vol 1, edited by Peter W. Ramwell, 400 pp, with illus, $29.50, Plenum Press, 1973.

Although the titles of these volumes are quite similar, they actually complement one another with regard to the subject matter covered.

The Prostaglandins, edited by Dr. Southern, is a compendium of papers and discussion presented at the Brook Lodge Symposium on Prostaglandins held in June 1972, dealing almost exclusively with the uses of the prostaglandins for termination of pregnancy. It is thus primarily a text useful to the clinician. It summarizes completely the experiences of a large number of clinical research groups, many of whom have been subsidized in part by the Upjohn Company in their work with these compounds.
