In the QUESTION AND ANSWER, "Is Barium Enema Examination a Reliable Test for Diagnosis of Acute Appendicitis," published in the May 17 issue (235:2238, 1976), Hytrast was mentioned erroneously. In the first sentence of the final paragraph of the reply, Dr Felson informs us, Hytrast should not have been mentioned as an alternative to barium for the enema examination. This drug has not been on the market for several years. A commonly used alternative to barium is diatrizoate (Hypaque) sodium.
