To the Editor.—  The initiation of a new series of articles on nutritional topics (224:1521, 1973) augurs well for our profession and the health of the public. Any program that promises to disseminate nutritional knowledge, to stimulate interest in it, or, to quote Dr. White, "... to whet the appetite of the reader to want to know a little more" is indeed worthwhile.For many years the subject of nutrition has been the stepchild of clinical medicine. Not only is it slighted in medical schools but also in continuing medical education. Postgraduate courses in nutrition for the practicing physician are scarce, and the pages devoted to it in clinical journals is infinitesimal. A survey of the Archives of Internal Medicine and the Annals of Internal Medicine shows that of a combined total of 282 original articles published in 1972, only three dealt meaningfully with nutrition.It is sincerely hoped that the
