Abstract

An increased incidence of congenital syphilis at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center seems to reflect the findings of general public health surveys. The role of the radiologist in the discovery of congenital syphilis is emphasized. In our experience, multiple long-bone changes in the first weeks of life are most frequently due to congenital syphilis. A differential diagnosis may be considered.
