Abstract

In the Jan 23 issue of The Journal (239:296, 1978), a correction of a previous article contained errors itself and was incomplete. The correction should have read as follows:

In the Nov 7 issue of The Journal (238:2049-2051, 1977), the second sentence of the second paragraph of the BRIEF REPORT " 'Burning Hands' in Football Spinal Cord Injuries" should have been three sentences, as follows: "In a survey of high school and college athletic programs conducted during 1973 to 1975, he documented 476 spinal cord injuries—some permanent and some not. Among the 476, forty-six permanent injuries resulted from football participation; this accounted for 54% of the total permanent injuries. One permanent injury occurred for every 28,000 football participants."

Reference 3 should read as follows: Survey reveals 476 spinal cord injuries, sportspages. Phys Sports Med 5:17, 1977.

Additional information for the correction was obtained from the following source: Clarke KS: A survey
