Abstract

The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery has, in its first few issues, set a high standard for future publications. The editor in chief, Robert H. Cofield, and an eight-member board of trustees are the leaders in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. Sponsoring societies from Europe, Japan, Australia, Brazil, and South Africa, as well as America, are a testament to the editorial intent to make the journal global and, more important, to provide a common ground for the discussion of shoulder and elbow problems.
