To the Editor.
—A cursory review of the Obituary Listing from JAMA, December 9, 1992,1 reveals a puzzling phenomenon—the seeming disproportion of relatively young physicians.I calculated the median age of death among the 40 deceased as 56.9 years. Is there any evidence this is part of a trend for physicians to die younger than the rest of the population?
