In Reply.—  Dr Lauterbach makes the important point that akathisia needs to be considered in the differential diagnosis of hyperkinetic movements for anyone receiving antipsychotic medications. I would only like to underscore Dr Lauterbach's comments by emphasizing that severe akathisia occurs in patients receiving low doses of prochlorperazine (Compazine) or metoclopramide hydrochloride (Reglan),1 often goes unrecognized,2 and is so distressing that it can lead to suicide.3
