Abstract

In Reply.—  The recommendations made by Dr Chin and myself are exactly that—recommendations. Physicians are obliged to compile the most recent data so as to make the best possible recommendations for the health of their patients. But it is the patient who must make the ultimate decision. In this context, I think our recommendations would be considered nondirective according to Dr Hecht's definition.
