Abstract

In Reply.—  I am pleased to echo Dr Fett's praise of the founder of Hôpital Albert Schweitzer. Dr Mellon carried out the potable-water and tetanus-immunization projects to which I refer in my article. It is, of course, important that "Haiti is no richer for my visit." That is just the point: one may go to such a place hoping to relieve suffering and death and leave feeling frustrated and inadequate.
