"I'd like to give you an injection of cortisone into your knee, Mr Schwartz. I think it will help your arthritis."

"What will it cost me, Doctor?"

"Money shouldn't be a consideration in making this kind of a decision, Mr Schwartz. But I know you're not a rich man, so I'll charge you only half my usual fee."

"So, what will it cost me, Doctor?"

"How about $10, Mr Schwartz?"

"How long will it take you to give the injection, Doctor?"

"Less than a minute, Mr Schwartz."

"You mean, Doctor, you get $10 for less than a minute's work?"

"I'll tell you what, Mr Schwartz, if it will make you happier, I'll leave the needle in longer."
