Abstract

In Reply.—  Indeed, Picasso was born in Málaga, but spent his formative adolescent years in Barcelona, where he participated very actively in Catalonion intellectual and political life, and it was to Barcelona that he returned on family visits. Several sources state that he did speak Catalan fluently.
