This volume is a gathering of essays and lectures published during a span of 44 years (1932 to 1976) in a variety of medical and other journals. Various chapters deal with geriatrics, psychiatry, and with the historical role of Jews in medicine in light of Jewish traditions.
These often charming essays are the work of a devoted physician whose love of Jewish learning and lore are everywhere manifest, although the writing is somewhat marred by an infelicity of style. The book will be of special interest to those who would like to gain some insight into the favored role of medicine in Jewish life and tradition.
