Abstract

To the Editor.—  In their CASE REPORT on labetalol hydrochloride therapy for acute aortic dissection, Grubb et al1 used a 20-mg bolus followed by a continuous infusion of 2 mg/min for two days. The total intravenous dose was therefore 5.78 g in 48 hours. The manufacturer suggests a maximum dose of 300 mg/d.2 Could the authors please comment on the dosing discrepancy?
