Abstract

To the Editor.—  Complete and accurate information on death certificates is important for the reasons given in the SPECIAL COMMUNICATION by Kircher and Anderson.1 The example cited in case 2 deserves comment, since another scenario can be developed. Sudden death is a well-recognized event in severe aortic stenosis.2 Could it be that this complication preceded the automobile accident, so that the underlying cause of death was in fact aortic stenosis?
