In Reply.  —I appreciate Dr Jurica's comments regarding my article entitled "A Dip in the Pool." Although this article was based on an actual clinic visit that occurred during my residency, some of the details have been altered to protect the identity of the individuals involved. The events portrayed in the article do not exactly mirror what happened in real life. So, rather than defending each point made by Dr Jurica, I will respond in a general way to his comments.Dr Jurica states that it is important "to recognize that for many patients abortion is not a morally acceptable solution to the problem" described in the article. I certainly agree with this statement, but I think two important points must be made. First, the physician must separate his own views of morality from those of his patient.
