The contributing authors are all eminent French physicians, and the series was under the general direction of the late Jacques Lefebvre.
Volume one, Heart and Great Vessels, begins with a chapter on methods of investigation and on radiologic anatomy. A useful and comprehensive section covers developmental anatomy and embryology. Congenital heart disease presenting mainly in the neonate, is dealt with in a separate chapter. There are descriptions of the radiology of left-to-right shunts, of abnormalities of the left side of the heart, and of malformations of the pulmonary vasculature.
