This book represents one of the noblest traditions in medicine, the teaching of clinical truths gained by a dedicated physician over a lifetime of scholarship and experience. Completed just a few months before O. Charles Olson's death in 1987 and published just one year later, his text is an exemplary legacy of his contribution to the profession.
