To the Editor.
—In an otherwise excellent article by Eddy,1 he discusses society's responsibilities to individuals in need and the use of "social" funds to pay for individual medical treatment. Eddy goes on to say, "however, as the cost of services increases, as the value of the service becomes more questionable, and as the individual's ability to pay increases, the conflict grows." It would seem to me that the intent here is to say "as the individual's ability to pay decreases" or "as the individual's inability to pay increases."
