Abstract

To the Editor.—  Dr Neubuerger et al (1982;248:960) report on a four-year alcohol treatment program with a one-year abstinence rate of 54% in a four-year study. Unfortunately, he failed to include those "patients who signed out against medical advice or were detoxified only" in the group studied. We need those numbers to evaluate his results adequately.
