—In the Special Communication entitled "Röntgen Retrospective: One Hundred Years of a Revolutionary Technology," published in the September 20,1995, issue of THE JOURNAL (JAMA. 1995;274:912-916), two incorrect dates were published. On page 912, the fourth sentence of the second paragraph should read as follows: Physicians had long speculated on the possibility of a "miracle pill" to cure all infection, and the discovery of penicillin in 1928 (published in 1929) would take medical science part of the way to that goal. Also, on page 916, the publication date for reference 1 should be December 1895.
