Abstract

In Reply.  — Dr Carey's research was reviewed by a scientific panel of experts, which I chaired. We concluded that the work was valid and should be continued. Another panel from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons also reviewed his work and came to the same conclusion. Representative Livingston's comments seem largely irrelevant. The issue is whether the research is worthwhile. The answer according to the panel that reviewed Dr Carey's work was that it was.
