—In the Original Contribution entitled "Body Fat Distribution and 5-Year Risk of Death in Older Women," published in the January 27, 1993, issue of The Journal (1993;269:483-487), incorrect data on waist/hip circumference ratio (WHR) were reported. On page 486, the last sentence of the first paragraph of the "Comment" section should read as follows: "In contrast, WHR was strongly, positively, and monotonically associated with total mortality: for a 0.15-unit [not 0.2-unit] increase in WHR, risk of death increased 1.60-fold [not 1.45-fold], and the women at most risk of death were those with a low BMI [body mass index] and a high WHR."
