Several errors occurred in the COUNCIL REPORT entitled "Alcohol and the Driver," published in the Jan 24/31 issue of The Journal (1986;255:522-527). The last sentence of the abstract should have read, in part, as follows: "The American Medical Association supports a policy recommending.... (2) adoption by all states of 0.05% BAC as per se illegal for [not 'as per se evidence of alcohol-impaired'] driving." In the footnotes of page 522, the second paragraph should have read, "Report A of the Council on Scientific Affairs, adopted by the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association at the Annual Meeting, June 1985 [not '1984']." The last sentence of the third footnote should have read, "This report reflects the views of the scientific literature as of June 1985 [not '1984']."
