Incorrect Data

—In the Concepts in Emergency and Critical Care article entitled "AIDS in a Medical Intensive Care Unit: Immediate Prognosis and Long-term Survival," published in the October 16, 1996, issue of The Journal (1996;276:1240-1245), incorrect data appear.

The second sentence in the first full paragraph of the third column on page 1241 should read, "The SAPS I [not Glasgow Coma Score] total OMEGA score and length of stay were not significantly different between the AIDS and non-AIDS groups."

The first sentence in the second full paragraph of the third column of page 1241 should read, "The mean overall in-MICU mortality was 28% (SE, 4% ) among AIDS patients and 20% (SE, 1%) among all other patients (P<.05) [not P<.01]."

In Table 2 on page 1242, the following changes should be made: On the line "Central nervous system dysfunction, No. (%)," the entry for nonsurvivors should read, "7 (21) [not 2 (6)],"
