This is the second American edition, presumably a translation from the third German edition of this work; it is practically the same as previous editions, except that a chapter on salvarsan therapy has been added. The author is essentially a clinician. While the book is really an extensive review of our present knowledge of syphilis of the nervous system, it contains the views of leading neurologists and syphilographers, and covers the pathology very well. The greatest usefulness of the work lies in its value as a guide to the practitioner. With the introduction of salvarsan and of intraspinal injections, the theraphy of syphilis of the nervous system has undergone so many modifications that it is and up to date statement of the present status of the treat and up to date statement of the present status of the treatment of syphilitic diseases of the nervous system.
