There is a tendency at present to visualize in the teaching of all branches of medicine and surgery. This is indicated by the numerous atlases used in the study of anatomy and stereopticon views of dissections on the living and dead. This book has much more text than the ordinary atlas and many plates of figures illustrating different conditions in the bladder. There are 243 pages of profusely illustrated text and fortyeight plates of views of the bladder under different conditions, showing the appearance of pathologic conditions of the bladder.
The first four chapters deal with the history of the cystoscope and the principle on which it is founded, with a description of the Nitze cystoscope and its numerous modifications, with stereocystoscopy and electric arrangements necessary for the practice of cystoscopy.
