While it is only three years since the first edition of this book was issued the author has found it necessary to revise many parts so as to bring it well up to date, and to include all the later important operative procedures. Several changes have been made in the arrangement. In our review of the book on its first appearance we criticised the classifying of the various lacerations of the pelvic floor, vaginal fistula, etc., under malformations; in this edition these and similar conditions are grouped under a new general division of traumatisms. Other minor changes are also to be observed, all bettering the book. Many new illustrations have been added, and not a few of the old ones have been redrawn.
