Abstract

This book is based on a lecture delivered last spring before the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. It is a description of the fundamental principles connected with the phenomena and the properties, of radium, selenium and other radio-active substances. The author includes a description of a visit to the Finsen Institute at Copenhagen and a review of the work done there. His statements regarding the value of this method of treatment for certain conditions are exaggerated.
