Abstract

CALIFORNIA.  The Presidio Hospital will soon be full to overflowing. It has a capacity of 880 beds, has now nearly 600 patients and the transport Meade is bringing about 275 sick and wounded soldiers.Dr. R. Beverly Cole, ex-president of the American Medical Association, San Francisco, was tendered a banquet, October 26, to celebrate the semi-centenary of his entry into the practice of medicine. He was presented with a silver plate suitably engraved with a preamble and resolutions signed by the president and faculty of the University of California.A sanatorium is projected which will utilize the Hotel Mentone property. The Los Angeles physicians interested in the enterprise are William Brill, Charles W. Bryson, Barton Dozier, Paul Bresee, William H. Dukeman, David W. Edelman, Joseph A. LeDoux, H. B. Bascom Montgomery, Claire W. Murphy, Francis A. Seymour, James H. Seymour and Charles F. Taggart.
