Abstract

Dr. Oppenheim's former work, "Development of the Child," is an extraordinary book. No one interested in children can afford to overlook it. That work created somewhat of a furore among educators, and it is but natural that physicians who were acquainted with it should be eager to examine his new work on pediatrics. While this one is not so remarkable from the medical standpoint as the other was from an educational point of view, still it is a valuable work. It is up to date in every respect, except in treatment, which does not receive sufficient attention. The descriptions of lesions and symptoms are strong. The book is a good one and deserves a wide popularity. We can cordially recommend it to the profession.
