The establishment of a Department of Behavioral Science at Temple University School of Medicine, and the appointment of R. W. Payne, PhD, to fill the position, was announced by Robert M. Bucher, dean of the school. Dr. Payne, formerly professor of psychology at Queen's University, Kinston, Ontario, has been named professor of psychology and head of the department at Temple. He taught in London at the Institute of Psychiatry for ten years before being appointed to the Queens University faculty in 1959.Recently appointed to the faculty of the University of California at Davis is Earl F. Wolfman, Jr., MD, currently with the University of Michigan. Dr. Wolfman was named associate dean of the school of medicine, and also will serve as professor of surgery and chairman of the Division of Surgery.Dr. Wolfman is the second member of the new medical school at Davis.
