To the Editor:—
Dr. Willard Goodwin's investigations in the realm of science are noted for their soundness and objectivity. I, for one, am impressed. Wolf, whose report on the effects of stress on the heart I cited in my contribution on "death from fright" (195:1019, 1966) now proposes that "deaths from 'fright'... may be attributable to an overexuberant oxygen-conserving reflex" (Amer Heart J71:840, 1966).
