Abstract

Some studies, especially those of Dobzhansky and of Bentley Glass, on the philosophical aspects of biology, will interest the thoughtful physician. Nevertheless the volume as a whole shows spotty coverage, distressingly heterogeneous approach, and marked inequality in expository skill. The general bibliography offers excellent suggestions for further reading.
